Togo
Togo is a tiny nation wedged between Ghana, Burkina Faso and Benin. This picturesque country was once one of West Africa’s top travel destinations, with mesmerising waterfalls, lush rainforests, rustic and traditional villages, diverse game viewing and so much more. Recreational activities in Togo include boating and fishing on Lake Togo, hiking up Mount Agou (914m), exploring the World Heritage site of Tamberma mud tower-houses in Koutammakou and visiting the many art and craft centres.
There are 37 ethnic tribes in Togo, this amazing mix of cultures creates the unique culture-filled atmosphere of Togo. A highlight for visitors will be seeing one of the many traditional festivals which occur throughout the year. These spectacular festivals celebrate the culture and spirituality of the Togolese people.
Don’t let Togo’s size and the fact that it is off the beaten track put you off visiting; it has so much to offer any traveller with a sense of adventure.
