Emperor Penguins: Snow Hill Island Safari 2010/11 (14 Days)

Adventurers returning from one of our 'Emperor Penguins: Snow Hill Island Safaris' raved about the icebreaker experience. Some observed that, as the focus of the voyage was on the penguins, they had not considered that the environment in which they lived would be as fascinating as the birds. Emperor penguins had raised their young on sea ice that had captured icebergs, freezing them in place, like huge sculptures dropped at random into the landscape. To reach the rookery, our adventurers followed a flag-marked path that wound around and through the icebergs that towered overhead two and three stories high. We will be travelling during the austral spring to the Weddell Sea, when the weather is changeable.

Note: Weather and other mitigating factors may result in changes to our itinerary and alteration to certain shore excursions.
Please note this is particularly important with regard to the flying of the helicopters.
