Peregrine Adventures

Jewels of the Adriatic (15 Days)

This unique itinerary combines majestic landscapes with historic cities. Starting in Venice we travel to Croatia and visit historic Pula, home to magnificent Roman ruins. Next is Slovenia, a country almost without peer in Europe for natural beauty. Its classy capital, Ljubljana, is dominated by a medieval castle that overlooks the town centre and the Kamnik Alps for a picturesque backdrop. Scenic delights abound nearby with the beautiful Lake Bohinj and the sublime surrounds of Lake Bled. Croatia’s Plitvice National Park is best explored using a network of wooden pathways, whilst wandering around the quaint winding streets of medieval Zadar is an amazing experience. From Split our trip takes on a slightly more adventurous flavour, combining scenic boat trips with walking and a day of cycling to explore the pristine islands of the Dalmatian Coast. A one-time maritime powerhouse, the delightful walled city of Dubrovnik has overcome siege and turmoil to remain one of the most majestic sights on the Adriatic Coast.
