Serengeti & Silverbacks
Combine the amazing wildlife experiences on the East African savannahs with a trek in the forests of Rwanda to visit the mountain gorilla. This is the ultimate wildlife adventure in which we get to meet and interact with a multitude of iconic African wild animals in their natural habitat. Lake Nakuru welcomes us with flocks of pink flamingos resplendently feeding on the soda lake in the midst of the Great Rift Valley. In the East Africa Mission Orphanage, we encounter a heart-warming human story unfolding. The Masai Mara and the adjoining Serengeti National Park make up one of nature’s great playgrounds, where large herds of zebras, wildebeests and gazelles mingle amidst elephants, giraffes and rhinos, all the while looking out for their erstwhile predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. The fabled Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara provide more incredible sightings. Flying to Rwanda, our wildlife encounter takes on a different slant as we journey into the jungles and come face-to-face with the mountain gorillas. The opportunity to encounter these gentle and contemplative creatures up close is sure to be something you’ll remember forever.
