    Day 1 - Arusha

Arrive in Tanzania’s safari capital, Arusha, and transfer to Machweo Retreat. Spend your time relaxing in the lush surrounds, enjoying a pamper session at the wellness centre or just taking in views of the Masai Steppe and Mount Meru.

    Day 2 - Karatu

Wake early for this morning’s departure and then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a safari experience like no other. Home to over 30,000 animals, this is your chance to get up close and capture that perfect moment on film. Or you might like to put the camera down and commit the scene to memory. The only animal you won’t see here is the giraffe, as they cannot negotiate the steep incline to reach the crater floor. Spend two nights at tranquil Gibb’s Farm.

    Day 3 - Karatu

Spend a free day making the most of your exceptional accommodation. Relax in the lush gardens and sip on the farm’s own coffee while looking out over fertile plains. Walk to see sustainable farming efforts in action; wander through fruit, vegetable and herb gardens; visit the coffee fields or try your hand at milking a cow. Join a naturalist for a forest walk or let indigenous Masai healers point out medicinal plants in the nearby forest. Massage treatments are available and you can also watch the resident artists at work. There is even the option of visiting nearby Karatu or Tloma School to interact with the locals and gain a deeper connection with the culture. Your guide will be on hand to help make any arrangements.
