Rwanda
The Land of 1,000 Hills contains one of the world’s great wildlife experiences: trek through the bamboo forests of the Parc National des Volcans for a close encounter with mountain gorillas. Seeing at close quarters the interaction of the families, the infants, mothers and silverbacks, is a heart-quickening, massively moving moment – a highlight of any Rwandan adventure. And the beautiful bamboo forests on the country’s endless mountains hold other treasures – the chimpanzees of Nyungwe Forest, for example, abundant birdlife, and the elusive golden monkey. Visiting Rwanda is a joy: a country now full of optimism, and ready to show off its wonderful, protected natural endowment.

Mountain Gorillas of Rwanda

Visiting the gorillas was the highlight of our trip. Rwanda is a beautiful place and the people in the highlands are of beautiful spirit.
Be prepared for some very rough roads and some questionable driving. If you enjoy dodgem cars then you will enjoy the ride.

Trip Leader Innocent was fantastic, went out of his way to be flexible and welcoming! Accommodation was beautiful and meals were great at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. We had a fantastic trip and the gorilla trek was amazing.
