Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Stone Town
Accommodation: The Serena Hotel, Stone Town
Activities:
- On arrival at Zanzibar Airport you’ll be met by our local operator and transferred to the Tembo Hotel in Stone Town. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the historic, winding alleyways and streets of Stone Town. Our local operator can advise you on the range of activities available in the area.
- The Tembo Hotel, once an American Consulate, is located in the heart of Zanzibar on the sea front and is fully equipped with first class facilities.
- The spacious hotel rooms are fully air-conditioned with hot and cold water, television, phone and mini bar at your disposal. To cool off during the heat of the day there is also a swimming pool at the hotel.
Day 2: Stone Town
Meals included: 1 breakfast
Accommodation: The Serena Hotel, Stone Town
Activities:
- Today you’re free to explore the old town, or simply relax at the hotel.
- A tour of the spice plantations is highly recommended and can be easily arranged through our local operator, Zanzibar Unique. The tour will give you the opportunity to see and taste a variety of spices (cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, etc.), as well as tropical fruits. Your guide may also introduce you to some rare plant species including the henna bush and lipstick tree before driving you back to Stone Town.
Day 3-4: East Coast Beaches
Meals included: 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners
Accommodation: Breezes Beach Club or similar, East Coast - Zanibar
Activities:
- Today you’ll be transferred to the East Coast of Zanzibar by our local operators where you’ll be shown to your hotel - Breezes Beach Resort.
- During your time on the East Coast you can enjoy safe swimming, excellent snorkelling, diving and other water sports plus windsurfing and water skiing. There’s also a fitness centre for those who might want to work up an appetite for the excellent cuisine served in the resort restaurant!
- Breezes Beach Resort, located on the east coast of Zanzibar, is a wonderful resort situated along a white sandy beach. Each tastefully-decorated room has private facilities and air-conditioning. The resort also offers a swimming pool, water sports and fitness centre, restaurant, bars and shopping bazaar. It’s the perfect place to unwind after the hustle and bustle of Stone Town.
Day 5: Zanzibar Airport
Meals included: 1 breakfast
Activities:
- Today you’ll be transferred back to Zanzibar airport by a representative of Zanzibar Unique where your tour will end on arrival.

Non-included Meals
Most meals are included on your trip (except for North America trips - please refer to your day-to-day itinerary). However, sometimes we think you'll benefit from getting out and discovering the local cuisine. So when a meal is not included, it's a great opportunity to try something new. For group trips, ask your leader for tips on where to get the best meal, or you might decide to dine out as a group and experience the fun together.

Visas and PermitsIt is your responsibility to ensure you have all required visas for your trip. Rules and regulations governing the issuance of visas are constantly changing, and vary for different nationalities and you should check visa requirements with your travel agent or relevant consular authority well before travel.
Tanzania
Australians, Americans, Canadians, British and New Zealanders currently require a visa for Tanzania. For all other nationalities please reconfirm your visa requirements with your travel agent. Care must be taken to ensure that your visa does not expire before your proposed date of entry to Tanzania (visas are usually valid for three months from the date of issue).
It is recommended that visas should be obtained before departure. A visa fee of US$50 is charged to most foreign nationals. A visa fee of US$100 is charged for US citizens.
You are required to have travel insurance before heading off on a Peregrine trip. Insurance can be organised by your Peregrine representative or your travel agent.

Important Information
This extension can only be booked in conjunction with another of our tours. A departure tax of US$5 is currently payable at Zanzibar airport if flying domestic, or US$30 if flying international and must be paid in US$ cash.
Please do not expect to use credit cards in Zanzibar: their use and acceptance is extremely limited. In addition, to exchange travellers cheques you must be able to produce your purchase slips to prove the authenticity of your holding.
