    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Johannesburg

    • You will meet your tour leader and fellow travel companions at the reception of your Johannesburg hotel at midday.
    • Johannesburg is often referred to as Jo'burg, E'Goli or the City of Gold, the latter referring to its location in the centre of the world's richest gold fields, which lead to the settlement of the area 100 years ago.
    • You will spend the afternoon enjoying a township tour of Soweto. This will offer you insight into the contemporary lives of South African people, you will also learn more about the history of Soweto itself, one of the best known townships in South Africa.

    Day 2-3 - Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Park

    • You will awake early today, and depart Johannesburg for the Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Park, in the heart of KwaZulu Natal. You will camp in the reserve itself, which is one of the last safe havens for the endangered black rhino. You will have the opportunity to explore the reserve on game drives, and you will also spend some time at a hide that overlooks a waterhole that is frequented by animals.
    • The Lebombo Mountain Escarpment dominates the reserve, which is largely made up of thick bush and open savannah.
    Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

    Day 4-5 - Kosi Bay

    • You will visit an authentic Zulu village today, where you will spend time with a local community guide, learning more about the proud Zulu culture. From here you will travel northeast to Kosi Bay Nature Reserve.
    • Kosi Bay has everything from a picturesque jungle full of wild fig trees and monkey orange, to grazing areas for hippos, mangroves, and a coral reef alive with aquatic life.
    • You will have the opportunity to go kayaking among the mangroves and across the coral reef while you're here.
    Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 6-7 - Hlane National Park - Swaziland

    • You will leave Kosi Bay and drive 350 kilometres north to Swaziland today. Your destination is the Hlane National Park.
    • Hlane literally translates to mean wilderness, and you will have the chance to explore the wild bushveld country with a local guide on a game drive. You'll be on the lookout for elephant, white rino, giraffe, kudu, zebra and other majestic creatures.
    Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 8-9 - Kruger National Park

    • Your journey will take you back across the border into South Africa and on to Kruger National Park today. You can enjoy some of the finest game viewing in Africa here.
    • Upon arrival, you will embark on a game drive, searching for the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

The Canyon is spectacular, with sheer cliff walls rising 2000 metres above the ground, and an array of vegetation that evolves from dry, rocky outcrops to lush rainforest as the altitude changes.
    • You will have a free day on Day 11. You can choose to go white water rafting on the Sabi River (optional at extra cost) or alternatively enjoy a tree top canopy tour (also optional at additional cost). If you prefer there are also self-guided hikes through the countryside in the area.
