  • Why we love Antarctica

    • Between them, our leaders have made hundreds of polar voyages and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise onboard
    • No two days are the same. Sit among the penguins and seals, visit a research station or see a historic site
    • The wild and less-visited east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula is in stark contrast to the tranquil bays of the west coast. Look out for massive tabular icebergs and 20,000 pairs of penguins on Paulet Island.
    • We stop for whales! And if conditions allow, we’ll launch the Zodiacs to get a closer look. The whales are usually as curious as we are!
    • Abundant wildlife, vast icy plains, majestic glimmering mountains, giant blue icebergs – it’s a place that most people only dream of visiting

    Safety information

Your safety is our top priority. We do everything we can to ensure your adventure with us is as safe as possible. Safety is a combination of having the right, well-maintained equipment, trained staff and crew, and a philosophy that considers safety as part of our everyday operations. Equipment The equipment on our polar trips is of the highest standard. Our crew are proud of their ships, and committed to giving you the safest and most enjoyable journey possible. We provide you with equipment that helps to ensure your comfort. When you board the boat you'll get an expedition parka (yours to keep) and rubber boots – perfect for the harsh Antarctic climate. People Our captains and crew are all mariners, with extensive experience in the polar regions. Our senior captains each have more than 15 years' experience in polar regions on expedition cruise operations. Our expedition staff are similarly experienced - some have made over 100 visits! We also have a resident Medical Officer on all our Antarctic trips. Everyday safety Our experience, attention to detail and passion for taking people to this remarkable region will ensure you have an amazing trip, and that you’ll be in safe hands. The crew run through safety briefings on all trips and are happy to answer any questions. We also always encourage passengers to take a tour of the Bridge – you'll get a feel for the ship and learn a lot about the vessel you're about to call 'home'. Personal belongings A security safe is controlled by the hotel manager. You can leave your valuables here for the duration of the trip as little money is needed onboard. All drinks and items purchased at the ship’s store can be put on an account and paid at the end of the cruise by cash or credit card.
