We had a wonderful time. The group was very friendly. The tour guide excellent. I do have one concern about the tour route. We traveled from Khiva via some desert forts and a yurt camp to Bukhara. The road was in very poor condition and we averaged about 35kmph. I would suggest if possible flying over this section. We could visit a closer yurt camp to Khiva - one was nearby with better facilities - and then either fly or train to Bukhara. The 10 hour spent in the bus was a thorough waste of time.

Huge compliments to your Chinese operators! The organisation and flexibility of the guide make this a very enjoyable and insightful adventure of China. We all got so much more than walking on the Wall (which is quite an achievement).

Knowledgeable and considerate tour guide, fabulous itinerary, a dream holiday where I couldn't have hoped for better - our guide was accommodating, fitting in extra sights and stops where we could, and helping us communicate where the language barrier may have been an issue. Fabulous, couldn't have expected better. WE LOVE YOU JAMES :)

An excellent trip and a different perspective on China from where I had been previously.

The Yunnan Explorer tour gives a great variety of experiences: modern cities, rural areas, ancient canal towns, beautiful scenery, ethnic minority encounters, invigorating trekking and so much more.

Our guide, Taiyo Iwanaga, was totally professional, knowledgable and friendly. He made sure to first find out what our special interests were ( gardens, culture, temples) and then made sure we had every opportunity to experience these.
He was an outstanding guide who did everything in his power to make sure we had a truly memorable trip. I can't recommend Taiyo highly enough.

Great trip, great food, Chinese people delightful, happy, honest. Our tour leader was excellent - even ringing us 3 days after tour had finished to remind us (again) that our transfer to the airport had been organised. We choose to travel with Peregrine because their leaders are great - this trip just reinforced our view.

Culturally a very interesting and rewarding experience - challenging at times. The opportunity to go to Tibet, Base Camp and the drive through the Himalaya was exceptional. Cuddling a baby panda bear at Chengdu was a special treat!

Our guide, Annie, made me rank the tour excellent rather than good. We were a smalish group (11) which I guess made us easier to manage but everything just ran so smoothly. she said Peregrine had things organised or set up for her but she seemed to have drivers etc on time, us the travellers ready to go and all this with no fuss and this I believe is what most traveller want. For our family the information/history etc Annie gave us was about right, I presume Peregrine supply and train their staff in the countries history etc. Additional questions I believe were also all answered.
I had a Birthday on the trip, a very pleasant surprise to see Peregrine had bought a cake, was a very memorable evening for me (I blew the candles out at our table at the Xian Opera House) and the rest of the group got into the spirit of the evening as well. Warren

The Mekong Explorer trip was an excellent introduction to Laos and Cambodia. The tour leaders were friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of us. Overall the value for money was good.
One main point of feedback would be to encourage Australians to get their Laos visa before arrival. The border crossing wasa shambles and it took several hours of crammed queuing to get the visa sorted. The other is to remind customers that some of the areas visited are quite remote. After the wheel came off our minibus to Phonsovan there were little choices in terms of getting the bus fixed and an already long day of travel turned into a 12 hour + day.
The Cambodia guide, Kheang, rates a special mention for his care and attention and willingness to share his personal stories as an insight into the history of Cambodia.

The trip was memorable. As we have a short time to explore both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, it would be great if you suggested people to arrive early/leave later so they could explore both cities a little more. We loved the boat trip in Halong Bay, really beautiful I wish we couls have stayed an extra day. Hoi An is so pretty and we had a great time there.
Japan Revealed
Janice and Richard - Japan, 17 Sep, 2011
We thought our trip was great! We went to all the places we wanted to and lots of others that we didn't know about as well. While the trip information is good, we had no real idea about how much walking we would be doing. While we managed, there were days when the going got tough! Hotter weather than we expected due to the typhoon didn't help. Everyone else in our group agreed on that. We also feel that we spent quite a bit more than expected as the 'optional' extras really arent'!! You wouldn't go to Japan and NOT do those things. Also the chance to send the luggage to the next destination while carrying a backpack for an overnight stop was a great way to do things there was the added cost. Again, we were only too happy to do it the easy way - travelling with bags when making so many train changes etc would have been a struggle. All up - a fantastic place to go!
