    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Guilin

    On arrival in Guilin you will be met by your Reserve leader and transferred to the Shangri-La Hotel. Freshen up and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Order a pot of Osmanthus tea and take in the views of Lijiang River and Guilin gardens, swim in the pool or head out to explore your surrounds.

    Day 2 - Guilin

    Rise early for a cruise down the Li River. On arrival in Yangshuo you’ll spend time wandering around the town. This evening you have VIP seats for a performance of Impression: Sanjie Liu, directed by Zhang Yimou.

    Day 3 - Ping-An Village

    Longsheng is home to four minority nationalities: Miao, Yao, Dong and Zhuang. On the drive here you’ll pass farms, karst mountains and sloping verdant hills before dramatically ascending to the riverside town. Continue further to Ping-An Village and walk to Li-An Lodge (a sedan chair can be arranged at your request), passing rice terraces and observing village life. There are no cars or roads here, and porters will carry your belongings to the hotel.

    Day 4 - Guilin

    Set off on a morning walk to the ancient village of Longji, passing many villages inhabited by Zhuang and Yao minority people along the way. Sit down to share tea with a Zhuang family in Longji, which is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about life in this part of the world. Return to the hotel and freshen up before heading back to Guilin where your tour ends on arrival.

    Our visit from Mao's Last Dancer
