Is this trip right for you?
This trip now drives by private vehicle on Day 5 for approximately 5 hours after past traveller feedback about the train journey.
There are some long travel days on this departure, which can be tiresome but offer a quintessential Indian experience.
The drive to Munnar on Day 9 is on windy roads into the mountains. Motion sickness can be an issue for some, but the scenery is stunning and regular stops will be made to break up your journey.

Essence of South India, April 2017
The Essence of South India was a contrast in three parts. 1. The beautiful Pondicherry and the incredible temples all they way through to Madurai. 2. The misty cool of Thekkady and Munnar provided relief from the heat and 3. The coastal waterways and beaches from Alleppey to Kovalam a great way to wind down from our travel through South India.

Essence of South India, February 2017
Santo is a fantastic guide. Northern India is a far more interesting destination. This trip is very expensive and there are not many wow moments like I experienced on the North India trip.
