You’ll ride via the vineyards, pastoral meadows and orchards of the romantic Wachau Valley, a historic wine region of Austria. By cycling at a leisurely pace there is plenty of time to stop and explore the amazing historic sites you encounter each day. | 4 | Cycle to the old Roman settlement of Lauriocum, now called Enns and one of Austria’s oldest towns. Cycle through pastoral landscapes of the Machland River and via the villages of Wallsee and Ardagger to the town of Grein (65km). |
| 5 | Ride through the idyllic landscapes of Studen-gau, passing pretty Austrian villages. Explore Maria Taferl, an old pilgrimage church perched atop a hill. Continue to Melk, home to a magnificent Benedictine Monastery (51km). |
| 6 | Cycle through the fertile plains and beautiful landscapes of the Wachau Valley, via vineyards and orchards. Explore the charming town of Durnstein before arriving at Krms with its impressive 17th century architecture (76km). |
| 7 | Final and shortest stage through the Wienerwalk forst to Klosterneuburg. Stop and explore the Augustine church. Continue to Austria’s grand capital, Vienna, for your last night. Plenty to explore in this great city (38km). |
