    Day 2 - Naples & Mt Vesuvius

Soak up the atmosphere on a walking tour of Naples. Visit the Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre, the Galleria and the medieval castles then wander into lively neighbourhoods. Travel south in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, the volcano that destroyed the bustling city of Pompeii in 79AD. Drive as far up the volcano as possible to start your round walk. A volcanologist takes you right around the crater rim and up to the highest point (1281 metres) for the best view of the Bay of Naples. This is a challenging walk and if you don't wish to participate an alternative activity can be arranged.
