Spain

Spain

Spain’s cities are among the most boisterous and joyous you’ll find anywhere. Pile your plate high with pintxos in Bilbao; take in exuberant flamenco in Granada’s old town; and bar-hop for tapas in Seville. A night spent among friendly locals in Spain is always memorable, and a great way of rounding off a day seeing one of the country’s iconic buildings: the Guggenheim perhaps, Santiago’s cathedral or Granada’s exquisite, unmissable Alhambra. It’s not all urban pleasures however. Some of Europe’s best walking can be found here, from the lush, rugged folds of the Picos de Europa to grand Pyrenean panoramas. An addictive, unique cocktail – one visit here and you’re hooked.

My daughter and I really enjoyed this trip - the walking was easy, hotels on the whole good and a fascinating journey. Spending 6 days walking was good and it is a very different experience arriving in villages, towns and a city on foot. We met interesting people en route.
