Switzerland
Cattle lowing in peaceful alpine meadows, hillsides blanketed with wildflowers, imposing glaciers tumbling down from towering peaks – Switzerland’s landscapes have been captivating travellers, honeymooners and poets for centuries. A trip on the Bernina Express is unforgettable, the train corkscrewing around Europe’s most magnificent mountains, ascending past pine copses, high tarns and icebound wastes – one of the world’s great rail journeys. Or slow things down by hitting the trail: the Swiss leg of the Tour du Mont Blanc serves up a wonderful mixture of valley-floor rambles and high Col challenges.

Tour du Mont Blanc

Emmanuel Roux was a brilliant guide. He was incredibly knowledgable about the mountains and his passion for the Mt Blanc area was evident. He managed the group and our varying abilities extremely well. I was very appreciative of the fact that he modified sections of the trip so that I could do the things I wanted to do as well as the rest of the group could do things to their ability.
