Turkey

From the giant statues atop Mount Nemrut to unbelievable underground world of Derinkuyu; giving in to the energetic, addictive crackle of Istanbul's streets and bazaars to peaceful exploration of Ephesus and Troy, Turkey is a country of exotic indulgences amidst spellbinding scenery. Cappadocia should be on every travel itinerary: a surreal world of extraordinary natural rock sculptures, underground towns and stunning gorge walks. Feeling active? The nearby Taurus Mountains offer varied, picturesque hiking far from the madding crowds. At every corner, Turkey happily offers visitors sensual pleasures: where else but Hierapolis can you bathe among Roman remains in thermal waters, or other than at Kekova could you swim among the ruins of an ancient sunken city?

A great tour with a very safe driver and a dedicated, knowledgeable and personable guide. Beware when booking pre and post tour accommodation in Istanbul. It was $160 per night in low season! I believe The Prince Hotel should have a special rate deal for Peregrine clients.

The trip was wonderful. Our driver was very safe on the road. Our guide Memis was very professional and knowledgeable and had a sense of humour that appealed to his 12 Aussie and NZ clients. The itinerary was well planned. The day out on a boat was a welcome change to the coach. The main negative for me was having to pay $160 at the Istanbul Prince Hotel for each extra night prior to and after the tour. The most expensive accommodation I had in Europe.

Gallipoli - I wan't prepared for the emotional impact it had on all of the group. I also enjoyed lunch with the local family in Cappadocia.
