Heather - Australia, 2 Jun, 2012
Overall excellent trip. Would have welcomed some info on number of travellers prior to trip . It was fabulous being only 4 and the smaller the number the better. Both driver and tour guide were superb and very knowledgeable. Two or three nights in one place was delightful but realise distance does not always allow this. Most hotels very good but one in Selcuk was dreadful and recommend do not use again ,all the group felt the same. Would certainly recommend the tour and peregrine from my experience.

The guide made the tour as we could joke with him and he understood us. Firat Baydir was great and highly recommended to anyone else considering a tour in turkey. favorite stop was Kaj a beautiful small seaside town with great shopping boutique style.Hotels a great standard and in Van driver was great but balance of tour Mehmet was a dull mute. Got us lost a few times and some drives were rather long and I no fan of 3000 year old rocks but the rest of group enjoyed it. Highlight apart from Kthe was the hot air ballooning in capadocia. Don't be scared it's safe and fun n a tru highlight n great photo op. The lunch in Capadocia Gorme was awful as the cave restaurant was fully booked. Also some lunch highway restaurant stops we're pitiful and felt over kebabed, gozlemed and shiished. Burger king was a welcome sight. Thanks Firat for topping off our Eurovision Baku 2012 trip with showing us around your homeland of Turkey

Ours was a small group of six, plus our leader and driver, and the number worked really well. We were able to time our visits to busy places to avoid crowds, and once there could move around more quickly, and have better Q&A time with our guide compared to the larger groups we saw. We also got to know each other and became like a family on the tour which was a precious experience. Highly recommended!

Places visited during the tour were beautiful, each day differing from the next, with perfect mix of big cities to small villages and country side. Highly recommended.

What a treat Hania was, food delicious, White mountain landscape awesome, not enough time to shop though, a little rushed but understood so much to see in short period of time. Need to return to Crete to see other end of island. Dimitry and Catariona fantastic!! Santorini was wonderful but again would someday have to return to shop in Thira. Already planning my next tour to Greece. Hope Petros our guide is still about.

I'd have to say the hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia was a real thrill for me. Turkey is such a vibrant country, couldn't get enough of it. What a fabulous informative guide we had in Memis Buyukata proud to be a turk and passionate about his country. Would love to do the tour all over again sometime. Only criticism was a few hotels lacked fridges, an occasional swimming pool would have highlighted my stay.

David - Australia, 12 Jun, 2012
An excellent overall tour of middle & western Turkey. If all the guides can be as informative as Mesis you will learn much about Turkey. For a 15 day tour it is reasonably relaxing although the last 4 days are at hectic pace. A little more time could be spent at Gallipoli but it really is a special place.

The tour was everything and more than we expected. It was well organised, transport was excellent, accommodation good to very good, but it was our guide Gayle Mackie which really made the tour so good. She was professional, organised, informative and knowledgeable, and was such fun to be around. She went out of her way to cover even the finest detail and her local knowledge was incredible

Splendours of Italy & Southern France
David - Australia, 8 Jun, 2012
Great trip for seeing some beautiful areas of Italy and France. The Italian part of the tour had a dirrent pace to the French part: in Italy there was a lot of free time every day to explore small towns, in the French sctor there were picnic lunches most days away from towns and we finished the days in late afternoon. The hotels were well situated and some had a lot of character. The towns visited were great both in Italy and France. In general the walking was very easy if you are a fit walker though the temperatures by the end of our trip were in the mid thirties which adds some extra difficulty.

Pre-tour notes gave a guide to the main sites that we could expect to see. In fact the trip included far more and was richer for the extra experiences. We were fortunate to be able to visit GoblekiTepe and to have a guided tour of the site on the initiative of our tour guide, this was a highlight for us.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our Turkish holiday, which was organised by Peregrine Travel. The tour was well planned, varied and full of anticipation. We were informed each evening of the program for the following day. The tour bus always left on time with the necessary stops for refreshments and comfort breaks. I would be more than happy to recommend this tour to anyone seeking an exciting and enjoyable Turkish experience.

This was a most enjoyable itinerary at a good pace. Our Tour Guide and Driver made an excellent team and looked after our every need almost 24/7. I would have liked an extra night in Fethiye as we arrived late afternoon and left early next day that way we would have had an opportunity to relax a little as the hotel was excellent and had a brilliant pool area. Not to mention the extra time to walk around the city which was quite picturesque. This trip was good value for money. The highlight for me the Balloon Ride in Cappadocia. Thank you to our Tour Guide Polat, Driver Tansell and Peregrine for a memorable holiday.

I arrived at Turkey to visit my daughter not knowing much about the country. It was an excellent experience. Our tour leader, Ali was a caring, knowlegable and fun person. The tour pace was not too hectic. We managed to avoid the crowd and always got into the tourist sites without long wait. the local restuarants that Ali took us were excellent. It was also liked a food safari tour. Thanks you Ali was an excellent experience.

This was an amazing trip enhanced by our leader, Ibrahim Karademir, who went above and beyond what would normally be expected. He was complemented by a very friendly and helpful driver, Erdogan. Although not an issue with any members of our group, it would be good if the terms 'easy' walking and culture were clearly defined as the trip required a reasonable level of fitness.

Our tour guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgable about regions and the history of turkey and always enthusiastic. Turkey is a wonderful country to visit. Going on an organised small intimate group tour was appreciated, especially when you see the large 40 - 50 bus groups. The bus driver always had a smile on his face and helped out all the time, and played a good game of backgammon!!

Always prepared to go the extra mile the more our group bonded and did everything together the more Ergun contributed and responded to our requests. Our Turkey tour was excellent. Tour leader is Selen Nur Caliskan. Selen is a lovely lady who looked after us very well. Our driver Fatih is excellent too. There are many highlights on this trip, in Istanbul alone we saw so much! The Aya Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Taksim, Rustem Pasha Mosque, Pera Palace, Cagaloglu Hamam...all amazing places!! Then we travelled around Turkey and everywhere we went it was just wonderful!! So much history and culture, and the very friendly people. We saw so much thanks to our leader Selen.
Our Greek Islands tour is also very good. Our leader here is Theodore and he is very well organised and looked after us very well. We visited Knossos on our own on Crete and it is amazing!! We also loved Santorini and Mykonos. Akrotiri on Santorini is another highlight. We enjoyed the seafood. The Olympic flame was there on the Acropolis the morning we were there. Theodore lokked after us very well, thanks.

We found our recent trip to Turkey both enjoyable and informative. Our guide, Korhan, was well organised, very personable and very knowledgeable about both historic Turkey and modern. We especially appreciated the contact we had with the Turkish people and local Turkish cuisine. The family run hotels where we stayed were clean, relaxed and comfortable and preferrable to the few resorts we stayed in. The tour had a good balance between physicality, museum/ historic site visits and free time.We will definitely travel with Peregrine again.

Excellent tour guide, Memis, and very capable bus driver. Accomodation was good, but some breakfasts were sparse and bathrooms poorly maintained. Itinerary provided a great introduction to Turkey, and an incentive to return this diverse country.
What was particularly important to the success of the trip was the capacity of both Memis and the driver to seamlessly modify the itinerary to accommodate the prevailing conditions, client needs and interests.
We would certainly recommend this tour to those seeking an introduction to Turkey.

Everyday was like a day of discovery. You just did not know what was coming next from ancient ruins to fantastic meetings with the locals. The trip was fantastic!

This trip ws incredibly thorough, very comprehensive trip of the highlights of turkey. I learnt more about turkey than I ever imagined. well worth it, priced very well. We tried all the local foods, had spare time for shopping (its a shoppers dream), lots of laughs and a great guide. I would recommend to anyone.

Patricia - Australia, 18 Mar, 2012
The trip was extremely well organized. The flow of events and the lead up to each activity or site was extremely well prepared and we had the 'scene' set well in advance which made for a most enjoyable time. It was an outstanding experience and one that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone, young or old and one that would delight even the most experienced traveller. I don't think we realised how many real treasures Turkey had to offer...we have only just begun and will look forward to returning to this wonderful country.

We had a brilliant time, which was enhanced by our thoughtful, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Bayram. He enabled us to experience more than just tourist Turkey and his passion and enthusiasism for his country was infectious. The tour was well organised and surpassed our expectations

A great tour with a very safe driver and a dedicated, knowledgeable and personable guide. Beware when booking pre and post tour accommodation in Istanbul. It was $160 per night in low season! I believe The Prince Hotel should have a special rate deal for Peregrine clients.

The trip was wonderful. Our driver was very safe on the road. Our guide Memis was very professional and knowledgeable and had a sense of humour that appealed to his 12 Aussie and NZ clients. The itinerary was well planned. The day out on a boat was a welcome change to the coach. The main negative for me was having to pay $160 at the Istanbul Prince Hotel for each extra night prior to and after the tour. The most expensive accommodation I had in Europe.

I loved the whole tour and the time spent in the cities chosen. I especially liked the 3 day stopover in Cappodoccia as it was magical and it needed that time to enjoy it all. Not big on the little detours to carpet and pottery place in Cappodoccia but all tours do this = I guess to encourage tourist money being spent.

Fantastic tour. This was my first experience with a tour group. The guide was great and the group was small so we got to know each other and it felt very personal. Turkey has a lot to see and the Turks are very friendly and polite.

A trip of a life time, visiting out of the way places with a tour guide who shares his knowledge and understanding of what it is like to be in another culture, even if just for a short time as a tourist. Also to be part of a small group made for an intimate experience. It was not all glitz and glamour thankfully, it had more depth and humanity.

On the first day in Istanbul we checked out by noon and were to catch a train to Ankara at 8 pm that evening. The weather was cold, windy and rainy but we had no place to get dry and warm up...some accommodation should be provided for inclimate weather

I had a wonderful tour....I love history and love to learn all I could, and I did on this tour. NZ is such a young country and it was amazing to be somewhere with thousands of years of history.

The trip was absolutely fantastic and the experiences were memorable. This was made more special for my husband and myself by our tour leaders enthusiasm and passion for sharing his country, history and culture. We would recommend this tour to our friends and family without hesitation.

Sue & Steve - Australia, 8 Apr, 2012
Places selected were fantastic - views, sights and walks were all very enjoyable. Only slight negative was the 2 hotels in Crete and Santorini were not quite in the towns' centres, which only became an issue due to the not so good weather - rained a lot in Crete.

Though the itinerary was a bit fast paced for me, I was able to see all the places I had wanted to visit and not have to deal with the driving and language constraints.

Turkey is a fabulous destination and we covered 4,000km of what is one giant museum. It helps if you are interested in history and love bread.
An unforgettable travel experience.

We loved everything about the tour, especially Memis, our tour guide extraordinaire. The size of the group (15) was perfect. Ahmed, our driver, was so helpful. We are sold on Turkey and Peregrine.

Our tour guide, Memis was absolutely wonderful! His knowledge was spot on and he explained everything as we went.
His unique way of informing us ranged from direct facts to wonderful stories and anictdotes.
The driver was a delightfully fun loving guy, Assim, who looked after us very well. Despite limited English, he always joined in the fun and laughed along with us.
Certainly a trip I remember many years to come. We are already talking about our next holiday.
Magical Tuscany & Portofino Peninsula

This trip was something I will never forget..Italy is such a beautiful country and every corner we turned was more spectacular, and to wander through Tuscany and soak in the history was all I could have asked for.

I really loved the trip. It was so complete and full and I never once felt rushed or that I'd missed out on something. It totally met my expectations.
I have no complaints with the choice of hotels. Some excellent, some very adequate.
The highlight for me was Capadocia...I especially LOVED the balloon ride. The natural beauty of Goreme was overwhelming...with its ancient houses and churches carved out of volcanic ash.
As a historian...I thoroughly enjoyed all the ancient history and Roman ruins.
The area around Kas (including Kas) was incredibly beautiful and the day on the boat/swimming very special...the sunken Roman city...fascinating...loved it! Restaurants were great in Kas also.
I suggest that the Terrace Houses are added into the trip to Ephusus. They were more than worth seeing.
OVERALL...great trip and I came back feeling 20 years younger and healthier with all the walking. I'm already thinking about the next one.
Camino de Santiago (self-guided)
Gretel - Australia, 17 Sep, 2011
My daughter and I really enjoyed this trip - the walking was easy, hotels on the whole good and a fascinating journey. Spending 6 days walking was good and it is a very different experience arriving in villages, towns and a city on foot. We met interesting people en route.
