Hi everyone. The main page indicates that the May 23 departure of the Yunnan Explorer tour includes the Tibetan Horse Racing Festival in Zhongdian. Does anyone have further info on this festival - dates for instance? (I have googled it and found nothing.) I am wondering whether the MAy 26 departure of China Experience would also coincide with the festival. I wrote to Peregrine on this and got a long explanation of a festival in Litang in August instead, and a follow-up to clarify has not been responded to.
Hi there! I can confirm that we do indeed go to the Festival in Zhongdian on the Yunnan Explorer departure of 23 May 2006!!!! The festival actually commences on 31 May. If you have not booked already - I strongly suggest you do so soon as we are about to feature this festval and the Yunnan Exokrer trip in advertsing and it will sell out fast!

Thank you Paul! Could you tell me if the China Experience departure of May 26 (it's the Yunnan Explorer tour that goes on to Xian and Beijing) includes this festival as well or will it be over by the time the tour arrives in town.
Unfortunately the 26 May departure of the China Experience does not coincide with the festival. The two tours that do are the 23 May Yunnan Explorer and the 23 May Oriental South.
