Hi, I have just completed the East China Adventure tour (which is the extended version of China Highlights). Our tour group consisted of 12 people (9 East China Adventure, 3 China Highlights) so 3 people left us in Shanghai when their tour completed. You will love Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. They are three huge cities but all have a completely different feel and sights to be seen. The Great Wall at Simitai is really high and steep so if you are like me and a bit wary of heights perhaps you will want to get to Beijing earlier and experience the Great Wall at a lower more touristy section (I am disappointed I didn't do this as I was too busy being scared to really enjoy the Great Wall experience). Xian is fantastic - make sure you hire a bike at the South Gate and do the hour and a half ride on top of the wall around the old city (it was great fun and you are up out of the vehicle and pedestrian traffic) - you will also love the Terracotta Warriors! My tour was a fantastic experience - I hope you enjoy yours too! Kristen |
