Aconcagua - ‘The roof of the Americas’

Aconcagua - ‘The roof of the Americas’

‘The roof of the Americas’, Aconcagua towers over its neighbours, and is even visible from Chile’s pacific coast, some 100km away. The continent’s highest peak tops out just shy of 7,000 metres, and any attempt on the summit, although not as technically challenging as some nearby mountains, takes over a fortnight, bags of fitness and no small amount of determination. Summiting is simply unforgettable, an achievement that lasts a lifetime, and perhaps the defining moment of your trip to South America.
