Dalat, the gateway to the Central Highlands, is a great place to escape the heat and humidity of the tropics. Vietnam’s premier hill station, Dalat’s cool climate, alpine ambience and playground lakes make the city popular with holidaying Vietnamese. It’s a fascinating place, with art deco buildings, sometimes downright bizarre architecture (see the ‘Crazy House’ and you’ll know what we mean) sitting alongside colonial grandeur and outcrops of modern Vietnam, all strung out along the limpid waters of Lake Xuan Huang.
