Desert camping with the Bedouin

The semi-nomadic Bedouin people call Wadi Rum home, and a night in one of their camps is a magical experience. After a 4WD ride across the burnt-red earth, the pleasures here are simple: the desert’s vast silence surrounds you, the sculpted sandstone rocks an extraordinary living room. A meal is cooked underground in traditional Bedouin style, then silhouettes of camels against a sunset that paints the world flaming orange. And as darkness comes, a campfire and a chance to look at the boundless skies above, count shooting stars and spot constellations
