Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonia Ice Field

Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonia Ice Field

If time allows, any trip to the National Park should take in both the French and Grey Glaciers, the former hidden from view as you approach through forests and past waterfalls, the sound of it calving icebergs often the only clue that you are near. The Grey, though, is an undisputed highlight of the park. A great sea of fissured ice slowly surging lakewards, the waters at its foot a blue-white and studded with countless icebergs. A boat across Lake Grey gives unforgettable views of this, the end of the great Southern Patagonia Ice Field.
