Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park

Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park

Bled’s big sister, nearby Lake Bohinj is quieter, and arguably more spectacular. Unspoiled and equal to any scenery Switzerland or Austria can offer, the world around Bohinj is more rugged, more abrupt than at Bled – the sharp bare slopes of Triglav National Park’s mountains rise nearby, such as Komar?a, down whose face the Savica Waterfall plummets. A walk into the hills here gives spectacular views not just of the lake, but across the Julian Alps range. And afterwards, test the waters – a Bohinj summer swim is a bracing, breath-catching adventure.
