Nha Trang cruise - the islands of the South China Sea

Swimming and snorkelling off the best beach in Vietnam is a tropical surf-and-sand delight in Nha Trang, but fun in the sun amongst the town’s string of stunning coastal islands is even better. Cruise out to secluded spots for a quick dip or a long bask; the island beaches here is beautiful in and out of the water.

There is a definite technique to manoeuvring the unique and ubiquitous basket boats of Nha Trang, though of course the locals make it look easy. The craft have neither speed nor stability, but their light weight and minimal water displacement make them perfect for navigating shallow stretches of river. If you’re inclined to have a go, expect to spin on the spot for a while. Once you’ve got the hang of it, join the traders and villagers paddling from bank to bank before heading to the beautiful sand and sea of Nha Trang beach.
