This was a unanimous choice and universally regarded as the standout pic in the comp. The photographer has created a very different take on an iconic structure and the result is a dynamically brilliant shot that drew plaudits for technique and creativity. Judges thought the photographer nailed composition, contrast, handled the backlight… we loved this shot.

  Environment Winner: KYAW THAR - UntitledThis pic really says humans in environment. It’s a brilliant use of square-frame format and beautifully lit. It really captures to moment Cartier-Bresson style.

  Wildlife & Wilderness Winner: KYAW THAR - UntitledThis is technically a fine photograph with the little graphic of the spider’s legs lifting the web an added point of interest. It also reveals a very good use of selective focus to emphasise the subject on that part of its web.
