IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please note that due to ongoing construction works at Khajuraho airport, many airlines have reduced the number of flights into and out of this airport. As a result we have had to reroute some trips between Khajuraho and Varanasi to an overnight train rather than the flight. Whilst this will only happen on the odd occasion, please be aware that this change may be made to your itinerary. We will do all we can to secure seats on available flights and will aim to let you know if we have to change your trip, however please be prepared that this might be at late notice or once your trip has already commenced. Your itinerary will not change with the exception of this flight. All activities will continue to be included.

KHAJURAHO AIRPORT:

Please note that due to ongoing construction works at Khajuraho Airport, many airlines have reduced the number of flights into and out of this airport. As a result we have had to reroute some trips between Khajuraho and Varanasi to an overnight train replacing the flight. Please be aware that while we will continue to do all we can to secure tickets on the limited flights available, this change may need to be made last minute to your itinerary. Your leader will notify you at the Group Meeting of any changes. All activities will continue to be included.

Day 24 - Accommodation in Alleppey:

Please note although our published Trip Notes advises that the night of Day 24 will be spent on board a traditional houseboat, this will only apply to tours departing from 1st January 2015 onwards. For departures until the end of 2014, the night in Alleppey will be spent at the Deshadan Resort. We apologise for any confusion.

FESTIVALS - HOLI & DIWALI:

Travelling in India and Nepal during the Holi festival, a lunar festival next held in March 6, 2015, (in 2016 it is due to be held on the 23rd March) can at times be dangerous - a lot of locals participate in consumption of intoxicating substances. The day has been associated with physical violence and danger. Your leader/guide will be advising you and your group on what places to avoid on this day and it may even be necessary for us to alter your itinerary for the day to avoid putting you or our group leader/guide in high risk situation.

Travelling during the Hindu festival Diwali, next held on the 11th Nov 2015 (in 2016 on the 30th Oct) generally held from mid October to mid November every year) can also be dangerous. During this time there are many displays of fireworks in the streets. It can be very noisy for several days and there is also a lot of pollution caused by the fireworks. As there are no restrictions on buying fireworks in India there are often injuries caused by people exploding them inappropriately. During this festival your leader/guide may be required to alter your itinerary to avoid any dangerous areas to avoid putting the group at risk.

Itinerary Disclaimer
Occasionally our itineraries are updated during the year to incorporate improvements deriving from past travellers' and local operator feedback. The information given in this itinerary may differ slightly to that in the brochure. It's imperative that you print and review a final copy of your itinerary a couple of days prior to travel, in case there have been changes that affect your plans. For the latest updated itinerary please visit our website: www.peregrineadventures.com Please note that while we operate successful trips in this region throughout the year, some of the changes that may occur in our itineraries could be due to inclement weather and common seasonal changes to timetables and transportation. This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for the chance of possible modifications to the trip en route.

Our ground operator will collect and keep one copy of the key pages of your passport in the unlikely event of an emergency. Please bring this along to the initial group meeting.

Emergency Funds
Please make sure that you have access to at least an additional US$500. This money can be drawn upon in unforeseen incidents or circumstances outside our control (eg. a natural disaster, civil unrest, etc) that result in Peregrine necessitating a change to our planned route.

Issues On Your Trip
While we always endeavour to provide you the best possible holiday experience, due to the nature of travel and the areas we visit sometimes things can and do go wrong. Should any issue occur while you are on your trip, it is imperative that you discuss this with your tour leader/specialist guide or our local representative straight away so that they can do their best to rectify the problem and save any potential negative impact on the rest of your trip. We recognize that there may be times when your tour leader/local partner may not be able to resolve a situation to your satisfaction - if this is the case, please ask the leader/guide to speak to their direct manager.

Responsible Travel
We believe strongly in low impact or rather positive impact tourism. Broadly speaking this means that we try to minimize the negative aspects of tourism on the local cultures and environments that we visit and highlight the positive aspects.
