Nile Cruise & Alexandria
At the far reach of the Nile Delta lies the brilliant coastal city of Alexandria. Explore this past site of ancient wonders, Dark Age catacombs, WW II battlefields and imperial wealth, before returning to the capital to take in the Great Pyramids and the renowned Cairo museum, and catch the train south to the treasure trove of Luxor. Marvel at the tomb-rich Valley of the Kings and the detailed columns of Karnak temple, then get aboard a riverboat bound for Aswan – stop along the way at the great temples of Edfu and Komombo and watch the life of the Nile drift by from the deck. In Aswan, there's time to wander the island temple of Philae, visit the High Dam and take an optional trip to the monumental ruins at Abu Simbel. A sunset cruise beneath the iconic sails of a felucca is a fitting end to your time in Nubia, then further relax and observe life along the Nile on the return cruise back to Luxor and your flight to Cairo. A final look at this labyrinthine metropolis includes a visit to the old Islamic quarter and a languid stroll – or a spirited haggle – in the famous Khan al-Khalili Bazaar.

I really enjoyed meeting the people of Egypt in different settings - even the Souks where I practised my bargaining skills! Everything went very smoothly and when things looked to go a little awry (Egypt being Egypt!)our tour was flexible enough to replace one experience with another one, usually of a unique nature.

PGNA Tour was a comprehensive coverage of Egyptian history in time allotted. The 7 day cruise allowed for some unwinding from busy schedule. In all a very pleasant trip.
