    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Marrakech

    • Welcome to Morocco! You will make your way to the joining hotel upon arrival, where your adbventure will begin.
    • Today is an arrival day so there are no activitries planned.
    • Feel free to wander the fragrant and vibrant streets of this fascinating city. There are a number of monuments and mosques that are well worth exploring.

    Day 2-3 - Atlas Mountains

    • You will meet your leader in the morning before boarding a bus for a six to seven hour drive through the Atlas Mountains to Ifergane. You will visit Tin Mal on the way, a 12th centrury mosque.
    • Ifergane is a village situated in the foothills of the mountains. It is inhabited by the Berber people, who have inhabited the land since before Arab arrival 1200 years ago.
    • The perfect way to relax after your long travel day is to sit and watch the sun fall behind the mountains with a cup of traditional, sweet mint tea.
    • Day 3 is free for you to explore as you please. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery with a walk to local palm tree-filled exotic oases and villages, or perhaps go on a donkey ride.
    • In the afternoon, you will visit the local tanneries, where you will learn the process of curing animal skins to create the leather.

    Day 4 - Agadir

    • You will continue your journey today through the fruit and vegetable farms of the fertile Souss plain. You will also cross the argan tree forest that is renowned for its tree climbing goats before arriving in Taghazoute on the Atlantic coast (approximately 3.5 hours) for a picnic lunch.
    • The rest of the day will be free for exploring the beautiful beach at Agadir, where you will spend the night.

    Day 5-6 - Essaouira

    • You will start the day with a camel ride across the expansive dunes, an incredible experience. You will refuel with a picnic lunch on the beach before heading on to Essaouira by bus (approximately 30 minutes).
    • The narrow streets of Essaouira are ideal for casual exploration. Their size discourages cars, and as you walk through the town it feels as though little has changed since the days of sea pirates.
    • It is one of North Africa's most attractive places and soon you will find yourself slipping into its easy-going rhythm. The fishing port is a serious commercial operation and it is fun to observe the daily catch and its subsequent auction.
    • Elsewhere there are numerous shops and several fine art galleries to distract visitors, along with a wide variety of restaurants. Your tour leader will help guide you through the maze of options.

    • The Djemaa el-Fna in the centre of the medina has a vibrant, medieval carnival atmosphere, with snake charmers, jugglers, stalls selling local delicacies and music. It changes through the day, so it is worth popping back a few times.
