More emphasis needed on level of fitness for this trip. Some people pay little regard to proper footwear and need for walking fitness.Peregrine need to be proactive with clients to ensure that they do not ruin others experience due to their low level of preparation. This did not happen on this trip, but was reported by others on a trip on Amalfi. This was Peregrines first Sardinian tour and was excellent

Its a great country to visit, but you need to be flexible as the leaders vary the programme from the Trip Notes, so you may not be taken to all the listed highlights. Do your own research as there are some days when you will be on your own in hotels that have no information on what is available locally for eating and visits.

Theegyptian leg of our trip was excellent due to the quality of the tour leader, whose knowledge was incredible and his fantastic sense of humor and ability to impart his knowledge so that everyone could understand the importance of each temple or each area towards the development of Egypt as a country, a culture and how this related to the rest of humanity was incredible! Some of the various hotel facilities were mediocre at best but the travel experiences, the efficient operation re transfers, connections etc made up for this. A wonderful experience.

My holiday in Egypt with Peregrine was everything I had hoped for. My experience was full of surprises including the noise and chaos of the traffic in Cairo, the grace and majesty of a hot air balloon flight at Luxor, the music and sheesha of the evening cafe life in Aswan, the enormous Lake Nasser and relocated Ramses temple of our flying visit to Abu Simbel, and the afternoons of cool drinks and warm conversation on the Nile cruise.

The whole trip exceeddmy expectations. The tour guides werewell versed in their country, its history, geography and culture.
Mohammed Ali was a stand out in Egypt and went out of his way to ensure that all our needs were met. He was very informatve, helpful and provided excellent guidance on all aspects of our tour. e had some great eating experiences due to Mohammed being prepared to share his local knowledge.
Mahdi Tahhan in Israel was ery similar to Mohammed. These type of guides help make the travel experence even more enjoyable.

Leone - Australia, 28 Apr, 2012
It was a wonderful holiday. Our guide, Mohammed ALi was very knoweldgeable, customer focussed, entertaining and obviously enjoyed his work.
Many guides are the "look and point" type guide. Mohammed did not do this. If he did he made sure we could all see what he was referring to. Theb "look and point"type guides are useless. Often you are trying to look at something you have never seen before and therefore you miss it entirely.
Mohammed was very patient with us and he made the trip a sucessful and enjoyable time.
Warm regards,
Lee

accomodation and food wise ... the cruise boat was the best. Lovely rooms and excellent selection and variety of food. The staff there were also the best - very interactive, welcoming and pleasant. All staff were wonderful to be with ... not just those serving the meals/drinks but also the cleaning staff.
The Grand Pyramid Hotel didn't feel as welcoming, staff wise. Also I was hoping the food selection would have had more Egyptian food, not Italian, Thai etc.
Isis Hotel was enjoyable however the staff were not interactive.
It would be great to include a donkey ride somehow in connection with the Nubian visit.

This tour was really good. The lack of tourists was obvious and helped with crowds in the temples and museums. The leaders were full of information and we learnt a lot over the course of this trip. The accommodation and food was overall good. Egypt was great and everything that we expected it to be but Jordan was incredible considered that I knew nothing about it, seeing the country made me wonder why more people don't travel there it's incredible and very clean and safe too. both countries are amazing and the trip was great.

Considering the complexities of Egypt life at the moment we commenced our tour with reserved expectations. However, from the time that we arrived and picked up our tour with our tour leader Ahmed Kamel at Cairo it began a journey that would exceed all travels so far. The Egyptian people are hurting financially and they have the most gentle personalities and are good humoured, polite and willingness to please most tourists.

the jordan explorer is a great way to see the highlights of what jordan has to offer. this was backed by an excellent guide in magdi, who was very knowledgable in all aspects of life, history and the culture of not only jordan, but how jordan relates to both the ancient and modern worlds. He wanted us to leave with a postive experience of jordan and the spirituality of muslim culture.
the value of the trip was good, in relation to the value of the cost of living and expenses in jordan. i would recommend around 300USD as adequate amount of spending money. the level of accommadation was right, which would suit most people.
Overall jordan is an interesting country steeped in history, a safe country to travel within, with plenty on offer to travellers wanting something out of the ordinary.

It was a fantastic trip overall and I would recommend to anyone to not hesitate in heading to that part of the world (Egypt, Jordan and Israel) regardless of what you are hearing presently - Jan 2012. Egypt in particular is very safe and with a good tour guide provided, you'll not miss on anything.
Would strongly recommend anyone travelling from as far as North America and Australasia to land perhaps a day or two before the trip starts to you get over the worst of the jet lag, as your mind needs to be fresh for the first days worth of major Egyptian sites.
Accommodation was generally very good across the board, some cases you just have to get out of your first world mentality and accept a few things. Peregrine do explain most of this, so there should be no surprises.
Thoroughly enjoyed myself and luckily had great tour guides and group members to make this holiday one of my best.

My Classical Egypt experience was fantastic as was our leader Hassaan Mostafa. He was probably the best guide I have ever had, knowledgeable of the subject, efficient and caring. He rang me a few times after I had left the group to make sure I was OK. All the arrangements were perfect. I was not so impressed with the Independent Alexandria experience...the hotel had no info about the city,no maps, and the guide who didn't even know my name was with me for less than two hours and was not interested in what I might be doing for the rest of my "three days". But I would certainly do Egypt again and recommend it.

We went to see the rocks that reflect the grand civilizations of the Middle East – the majestic, pyramids of Giza, the magnificent tombs of Petra, the masterfully formed walls and gates of Jerusalem’s Old City, and the endless array of rock formed temples, churches, and mosques that serve as the foundations for three of the world’s great religions. Yet, while we stood in awe of the accomplishments of the ancients, our hearts were captured by the struggles of the region’s people and reflected in a different set of rocks today -- the rocks thrown by demonstrators at riot-gear clad soldiers in Tahrir Square; the boulders bulldozed unto the driveway of a Palestinian Christian farmer to keep him from reaching the surrounding Israel Settlements; the piles of concrete from yet another demolished Bedouin village; and the newly poured, rebar reinforced, concrete walls separating Palestinians in the West Bank from those in Israel in the name of security.

Egypt, Jordan & Israel

Our trip was amazing, and the information provided was excellent. I have two comments; it may have ended up being more expensive than we planned because of all the added incredible experiences we had. I suggest you advise people to have an additional budget amount in mind before they sign up, kind of an informal way of not being surprised afterwards. Also, toilets for women are a definate problem in Egypt, and the tour leader should be very very aware of where a usable toilet can be found in all locations. Lastly, the street vendors are stunningly aggressive, and the Egyptian tourist bureau needs to rein them in or risk loosing tons of potential sales to westerners who do not appreciate the aggravation of fending these people off. I would have bought alot more trinkets if they had just let me alone for five minutes.

Mummies & Pharaohs (Family)
Paul and Janet - Australia, 8 Apr, 2012
This is an excellent Egypt trip for families, taking in most of the important sights. Having a local guide to take us through the whole trip was invaluable, we have travelled extensively overseas but would have found it differcult/less useful without a good local guide in Egypt.

The itinerary was very well organised and followed a thoughtful process. The trip flowed with ease as a result of Ahmed's skills and experience as a tour leader.
Nile Cruise & Alexandria

PGNA Tour was a comprehensive coverage of Egyptian history in time allotted. The 7 day cruise allowed for some unwinding from busy schedule. In all a very pleasant trip.
