Starting in Alaska's largest city, Anchorage, our first stop is the incredible Kenai Peninsula with two nights in secluded splendour at a luxury wilderness camp overlooking the fjord. It's the perfect introduction to the natural beauty and stunning scenery we encounter throughout our Alaskan adventure. We journey from the town of Valdez to explore glaciers in Wrangell-St Elias National Park, then on to our final stop in Denali National Park. Home to the highest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley, and incredible wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves and moose – Denali will be sure to impress!

    Please note that these trips are for adults and children travelling together and there must be at least one child under 18 with you.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 - Anchorage

    • Today will just be an arrival day, there are no activities planned for the day and you are free to explore Anchorage in your own time before starting the tour officially on Day 2.

    Day 2-3 - Denali National Park

    • Today you will depart Anchorage and start your journey north to Denali National Park where you'll camp for teh night. You'll stop over on the way to try gold panning.
    • On Day 3, you'll head on a tour of the back country, before watching a dog sled demonstration. Denali is unique in that you are encounraged to go off track to explore the park beyond the paths, your tour leader will guide you on a walk and help you to discover the local wildlife.

    Day 4 - Alaska Range

    • Travel on to the heart of the Alaska mountain range today, the highest range in North America and home Mount McKinley, the highest peak on the continent.
    • You will sleep under the stars, experience the peace and tranquility of the lakes of tundra and spot grazing caribous.
    • There are a number of species of birds here making it a paradise for bird watchers, you can also enjoy excellent fishing for grayling.

    Day 5-6 - Wrangell-St Elias National Park

    • Today will take you into the heart of Wrangell-St Elias National Park, the largest in the country and home to nine of the sixteen highest peaks in America. Your home for the night will be a tent on the banks of the Kennecott River, with beautiful views of Root Glacier.
    • Day 6 will be free, so you are able to explore the wilderness in your own time. Hiking, ice climbing, glacier walking and sightseeing are all options for today.

    Day 7 - Valdez

    • Valdez is next on your list, a place where natural beauty abounds. You will be surrounded by glaciers, towering mountains and powerful waterfalls. It is also home to wonderful sea life, land animals and birds. You may have the opportunity to see Humback and Orca whales in the Prince William Sound. The sound is also home to various tidewater glaciers, including the largest tideawater glacier in South Central Alaska, the Columbia Glacier. It is definitely worth a visit.

    Day 8-9 - Kenai Fjords National Park

    • You will go on a breathtaking ferry ride on the Prince William Sound today, keeping your eye out for humback and killer whales, before arriving at Seward, a colourful fishing village. The village is the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park.
    • On Day 9 you will have the opportunity to explore the trails of Exit Glacier. You'll have the choice of walking very close to an active glacier or going on a ranger-led walk. Your time here will unveil the way glaciers can re-shape a landscape, plants reclaim barren, rocky landscapes that are exposed as glaciers retreat.
    • You will also visit a tidewater glacier today, offering you the chance to experience the incredible sight and sound of icebergs breaking off (calving) into the sea.

    Day 10-11 - Kachemak Bay Wilderness Camp

    • You'll spend the next two nights in a wilderness camp overlooking the remote Kachemak Bay. It is a boat ride from Homer. This remote wilderness paradise is where you will find the true Alaskan adventure. Included activities for your time here are guided sea kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, and beach combing.
    • Hearty home-cooked meals will help to keep your cockles warm and ensure you recover from the day's activities. Salmon Bake is a highlight.
    • You will go for a walk to explore the area around the camp with yoru tour leader on Day 11.

    Day 12-13 - Anchorage

    • You'll have a free morning before making your way back to Anchorage, arriving early in the evening.
    • The trip will come to an end on Day 13 after breakfast. There are no activities planned for today.
