At times, it is impossible to believe a place like the Amazon Jungle can exist. And yet here you are, standing deep within its five and a half million square kilometres of rainforest. It feels like the world where time began. Strange and fascinating creatures dwell on the forest floor; jaguars stalk silently at night, leafcutter ants build their underground tunnels and colourful frogs stand out among the dark leaves. Saddleback tamarins and squirrel monkeys make their home among the trees overhead while spangled cotinga, parrots, toucans and trogons all share the same blue sky.
