Borneo (Malaysia)
Wherever you’re from, Malaysia’s island half is a world apart, an alluringly exotic cocktail of wild jungle and little explored caves; unique wildlife and rich history; fine-powder beaches and bath-warm waters. Dive into a bowl of noodle soup from a hawker’s street stall after a day exploring rainforest trails or swimming in the underground rivers of Gunung Mulu National Park. Come face to face with Borneo’s wild man in at the Sepilok Orang-utan Centre then visit the stilt fishing village of Sandakan. Explore the forest canopy around Mount Kinabalu National Park by day then spend an evening getting to grips with the local firewater, tuak rice wine. Borneo promises an adventure around every corner.

Our night walk at sepilok sanctuary - which was an additional tour - made the whole trip memorable for us. Sukau was fantastic and the river cruises.

You see plenty of wildlife at all the places you visit, the trip is varied with a combination of walking and boating, its fairly full-on so there's not a lot of down time but its only a week so they try and pack as much as they can in which is good. You don't need much money as everything is fairly cheap unless you want to drink wine!
