Cambodia
There’s something irrepressibly invigorating about exploring a nation on the up. Cambodia’s enthusiasm is infectious, a country looking forward and happy to share its future with visitors. Take a tour of its capital Phnom Penh and you can get swept away in it all: a Moto-taxi here, a bustling market there, royal palaces and pagodas. Head out of the capital, north or south, and treats await. Angkor Wat stands in Cambodia’s north, perhaps Southeast Asia’s single finest sight, and as atmospheric and beautiful a building as you’ll find anywhere. And south stands Sihanoukville, Cambodia’s beach resort of choice, with not one but four beaches to choose from, and warm tropical seas harbouring superb diving.

The genocide museum and killing fields are extremely sobering and very memorable. It made me realize how lucky I am, and emphasized how far the beautiful Cambodian culture and people have developed from that period. The tour gave us great understanding of and immersion in the Cambodian culture

Take as little luggage as possible. Most of the hotels had fast, reliable inexpensive laundry service. The basic accommodation is all part of the fun.

"The whole trip was memorable. The 2 day cruise on the Mekong was fantastic. It was something I had wanted to do for many years & had to keep "pinching" myself to remind myself that I was finally there."
