Begin your adventure with your head in the clouds in the Costabonne Mountains and finish with your feet firmly in the warm waters of the Mediterranean. This trekking trip can be strenuous at times, but it’s well worth working up a sweat when you can finish your days with superb French dishes and wines.

Pyrenees Mountains to Med (Self Guided), August 2015
This was a 5 day walk, from northern Spain, over the Pyrenees into southern Frances. It was extremely challenging and at times I wondered what I'd got myself into. It didn't help that I managed to 'reactivate' an existing injury in my back muscles before we even started, but I survived. If you choose to do this one, (or probably any mountain climbing) I'd recommend that you ask for a rest day in the middle. You do need a reasonable level of fitness; a desire to trek; a love of nature; and be a little crazy!! Some of the paths are so steep - up and down, and loose stones and scrub. We only took day backpacks, with some lunch, suncream, lots of water etc' while our luggage was transported each day to our hotel. The hotels are 2 or 3 star, but very comfortable. This package included dinner and breakfast. It was around 90kms. I think 3 days would have been enough for me, of the same thing, with a rest day in one of the beautiful French villages, like Mollo or Amelie. Enjoy!

Pyrenees Mountains to Med (Self Guided), September 2015
We loved this trip - it felt like we were walking through a scene from a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle each day.
