When you think about Iceland, it’s likely you imagine one of two scenes: the magical Northern lights, dancing above a frozen waterfall. Or sweeping swathes of green mountains, cut with rushing rivers.
There are some travel experiences that are so iconic, unique or special that they should make an appearance on everyone’s bucket list.
Iceland is famous for its dancing Northern Lights, incredible waterfalls, flight-disrupting volcanoes and abundance of puffins. A happening food scene? Not so much.
Read any guidebook and most will tell you that the top things to do in Iceland is visit the Golden Circle, soak in the Blue Lagoon, and chase the Northern Lights. These are all great things to do, but there are so many other incredible things to see, do and experience.
The weather in Iceland is unpredictable, to say the least, so it’s important to be prepared.
