Most of our itineraries are designed for people with an average level of fitness, but some involve a little bit of huff and puff (e.g. walking in the Dolomites). Every Peregrine trip has been given a physical activity rating on a scale of 1-5.
Physical ratings
Obviously a tour focused on walking or cycling will require a decent level of fitness, but there are other physical factors to consider before you book your trip. Europe, for example, has more stairs to navigate than other destinations, particularly in museums and hotels. In Asia, during certain times of the year, the humidity and heat can make even a short walk a lot more challenging. You may also be faced with some uneven ground, especially around ruin sites or when we venture a little more off the beaten track.
A rating of 1 out of 5 = these trips are a relaxing break. You don't have to worry about doing anything physically demanding unless you want to.
A rating of 2 out of 5 = Some easy physical activities included in your trip. No physical preparation is required to make the most of the journey.
A rating of 3 out of 5Â = This trip will raise your heartbeat. Moderate physical activities are included and a good level of fitness is required.
A rating of 4 out of 5 = Be prepared for some serious physical activity. The fitter you are, the more you'll enjoy it, as most activities will be challenging.
A rating of 5 out of 5 = Get ready for a heart-pumping adventure with plenty of challenges and some extreme conditions. You'll be required to be seriously fit for this trip as difficult activities are included.
