Map of Adriatic Coastal Cruising including Croatia, Greece and Montenegro

Cruise along the Adriatic coast from Croatia to Greece, taking in Montenegro and Albania along the way

Following the lead of their neighbours Croatia and Greece, Montenegro and Albania are emerging as some of the most exciting destinations in Europe. This 8-day small ship adventure cruise offers a fascinating insight into the past and the region’s rich cultural diversity. The best way to experience the Balkans is from the shimmering waters of the Adriatic Sea. Board the M/S Panorama, which offers the highest standard of accommodation, comfort and safety, and cruise from the iconic city walls of Dubrovnik to the romantic and evocative Old Town of Korcula. Turn south for Montenegro, home to pristine natural landscapes and rustic towns oozing old-Europe charm. Continue the voyage to Greece, stopping at the olive-groved island of Paxos and the Ionian Islands’ Grand Lady, Corfu. In Saranda, Albania, find a slice of the Riviera, then dock near the secluded bay of 5th-century Kotor. Refreshing swim stops, local wine tastings and fortified towns, this Adriatic adventure has all the ingredients for a memorable journey.

Why you'll love this trip

  • This itinerary is a little special: unlike most Croatia cruises, it also includes stops in Albania, Montenegro and Greece. You’re getting four countries in eight days.

  • We’ll sail as far south as Corfu, the ‘Grand Lady’ of the Ionian Islands and the greenest island in all of Greece. Take a short walk through the UNESCO heritage city centre.

  • While large cruise liners have to moor out at sea and commute into shore via tender, we drop anchor in the middle of port towns like Saranda or Korcula. You can hop on or off the boat as you please.

  • There’s nothing like diving into the aquamarine waters of the Adriatic Coast. Weather permitting, our captain will be stopping the ship for regular swim breaks during the trip, particularly around Bar and Kotor.

  • This itinerary includes a special trip to Saranda on the Albanian Riviera. We’ve also organised an optional excursion to the archaeological site of Butrint on the Straits of Corfu.

Is this trip right for you?

  • This is a small ship adventure cruise, which means you’ll be sailing on a yacht with between 30 – 50 other people. The boat is spacious and comfortable, but it focuses more on the destination than on-board activities. Instead of a pool, we have the sea itself. Instead of a casino, we’ve got board games and a good book. There’s also no formal dress code to worry about. Wifi is available for a small charge.

  • Our ship moves under engine power, rather than sailing, so all cabins will experience light engine noise when the ship is moving (and occasionally when we drop anchor). It’s probably worth packing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

  • Unlike other ships that cruise through the night, we’ll spend our evenings docked at port. This will give you more time to dine ashore and enjoy those balmy Adriatic evenings. Cruising will mostly take place during the day.

  • Onshore activities and excursions will involve a bit of walking. You’ll be visiting ancient sites and historical places, and at times you may have to cross cobbled streets and uneven ground, sometimes in hot conditions. If you have any concerns, please speak to your group leader before taking part.

  • If you’re concerned about seasickness, there are seasickness tablets on-board. The ship will experience some roll and pitch in choppy conditions, however all of our ships come equipped with stabilisers to minimise movement. Most of our departures run in peak season, when the seas are calmer. Your crew will do all they can to minimise any discomfort.

  • There are no lifts (elevators) on-board our ships, so you’ll have to navigate a few steep flights of stairs on-board. Handrails are always available.

Korcula is also known as the birthplace of the famous world traveller Marco Polo whose alleged birth place is right in the heart of the Old Town. Or you may wish to take an optional tour around Korcula town, and to the village of Lumbarda for a wine tasting.
