Why choose Peregrine?

Purpose-built ships
Our ships are built for polar conditions, with ice-strengthened hulls and safety being our biggest priority. Each vessel is equipped with modern conveniences and provides the perfect platform for Antarctic exploration.

Expert leaders
Our experienced leaders have made hundreds of polar voyages. Learn about the history, geography and wildlife of the Antarctic from experts in the field, including naturalists and ornithologists who are always at the ready to answer questions.

Twice daily excursions
We run frequent excursions to get up-close to wildlife, allowing you to experience what it’s like exploring onshore. Each day includes two excursions with our leaders exploring the sea ice, ready to encounter any wildlife that may waiting. You’ll be given life vests and waterproof boots for each excursion.

Full board
All cruises provide three course meals, 24-hour tea and coffee, and main activities including Zodiac excursions, onboard seminars and shore landings. Our chefs know just how to warm you up after your Antarctic outing, just be ready for a second serving!

Safety
All of our ships and operations teams undergo strict safety audits. We are committed to upholding the highest safety standards on all our trips operating within the Antarctic region.

Responsible Travel
Peregrine Adventures is committed to travelling in a way that is respectful of local people, their culture, local economies and the environment. Our operators are members of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) and choose carbon neutral vessels.
Your home on the sea
We know you want to be as comfortable as possible while onboard, which is why we’ve chosen vessels equipped with modern conveniences like LED televisions and internet connectivity, along with luxurious touches that make each voyage a true pleasure. Each ship boasts onboard chefs to prepare a range of hearty, quality meals, and onboard experts to ensure you spend more time seeing the sights and less time thumbing through a guidebook.
Leave only footprints
‘Sustainable cruising’ might seem like a contradiction in terms, given the history of the big mega liners. But it’s a side of the industry we want to change. Voyages are carbon offset and we refrain from single-use plastics on board, recycle, cook with sustainable seafood, and use biodegradable cleaning products in bathrooms. It’s all part of our commitment to being a carbon neutral company and, since 2018, a certified B Corp (Benefits Corporation).
We also give back to the region by supporting such organisations as the Mawson’s Huts Foundation. Established in 1997, the foundation conserves the fragile and historic buildings at Cape Denison, Commonwealth Bay, East Antarctica, which were built and occupied by the legendary geologist and explorer Sir Douglas Mawson.
Highlights of Antarctica

Visit the remote east side of the Continent
Cross Antarctic Sound on your way to the Antarctic Peninsula’s remote and rugged east side, a sweeping landscape full of huge icebergs, and islands famous for their enormous penguin colonies, exploration history and geological features.

Learn about whales with WWF
Search the icy waters and white shores for whales and other creatures by day, then relax and enjoy an illuminating lecture program by night, led by a team of WWF-Australia scientists, who'll share their cutting-edge research and insights into whale conservation.

Explore the Falkland Islands on foot
Wildlife sightings should include at least three species of penguin and two endemic bird species – Cobb’s wren and the flightless steamer duck – with the chance to learn about the local flora and fauna from your expert expedition team.

Enjoy a range of unique landing sites
Feast your eyes on glaciers, mountains and an extraordinary array of wildlife, as the immensity and beauty of the regions takes hold. Every day is a new adventure, and each day you will explore landings, bays and channels on excursions by Zodiac.
Activities
Take your Antarctica experience to the next level with some outdoor adventures. These activities are offered on many of our trips.
Wildlife
Antarctica – the seventh and final continent, where penguins, seals and birds are the only permanent residents. Here’s a snapshot of what you might see when you visit the Southern Ocean.
