French Polynesia’s tropical islands and turquoise waters are what holiday dreams are made of.

From the towering silhouette of Bora Bora’s famous Mount Otemanu to the coral reefs of Tahiti, the islands and atolls of French Polynesia are the perfect place to soak up some sun and embrace the island life. But it isn’t all just relaxing under a coconut tree or snorkeling straight off the beach (although there is plenty of that to be had). French Polynesia has a rich culture of vibrant music, colourful clothing and traditional feasts and celebrations, similar in nature to a Hawaiian luau. Leave your worries behind and relax in this beautiful part of the South Pacific.

Highlights of French Polynesia

Fish farm in Tikehau

Visit a local fish farm in Tikehau

Visit a local family-owned fish-farm, where different species of fish are kept in a maze of underwater fencing. Tikehau’s lagoon contains a higher concentration of fish than any other lagoon in French Polynesia and many of the fish are shipped to Papeete and sold at the local markets.

Blue Lagoon

Snorkel in the Blue Lagoon

Visit the Blue Lagoon in Rangiroa, a natural pool formed by islands and reefs within the central lagoon. At less than five metres deep, the Blue Lagoon is an ideal location for swimming, snorkeling, and spotting the wide variety of sea life that live there.

Wild pineapple

Taste local island fruits on Taha’a

This lush island is extremely fertile and is covered with banana, watermelon, vanilla orchid and coconut groves and exploring Taha’a by 4x4 vehicle is the best way to see it all. It’s also the perfect opportunity to try some of the local fruits that are grown in the region and take in some of the incredible views of Ha'amene Bay.
