What is a guaranteed departure?

A guaranteed departure means that there is no minimum number of bookings required on a trip for it to run. So, if you book a Peregrine trip that is a guaranteed departure, you’ll be heading off on the adventure of a lifetime.

The safety of our travellers is our number one priority, so during the COVID-19 pandemic, some trips that are listed as guaranteed departures may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, if the destination is deemed unsuitable to travel to at this time.

Which trips are guaranteed to depart?

The vast majority of our small group adventures are guaranteed to depart. However, if your chosen trip is more than a year away when you book, it may not become a guaranteed departure until closer to the time. There are also certain trips that have a minimum number of travellers required before they will be guaranteed to depart.

You can easily tell which departures are guaranteed by looking for 'guaranteed departure' next to your chosen travel date.

Will a guaranteed departure ever be cancelled or changed?

A trip labelled as a guaranteed departure will depart once there is one fully paid traveller booked, unless minimum group size specifically states otherwise (which will be stated in your Essential Trip Information and/or the Special Conditions), or when a Force Majeure Event results in the cancellation of a trip.

The safety of our travellers is our number one priority, so during the COVID-19 pandemic, some trips that are listed as guaranteed departures may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. This will most likely be due to changes in government travel restrictions or if international borders are closed. We review trips and advise our travellers of any COVID-19 related cancellations at least one month prior to their scheduled departure date. If your trip is able to depart, we may adjust an itinerary for COVID-19 safety reasons. In this instance, we would contact travellers to let them know of the changes in advance.
