Begin your Panama journey walking the streets of Panama City’s old town, then travel inland to Gatun Lake to see the daily activity at the locks of the canal. Explore the abandoned ruins at Fort San Lorenzo, then follow the lure of the Pearl Islands, drifting from one sublime beach to the next and lounging, swimming and snorkelling along the way. Darien National Park vaunts not only an incredible array of wildlife, but also the indigenous Embera people who are eager to meet visitors to Mogue village. Explore the docks of Panama City

Panama’s capital lies on the Pacific Coast, backed by the green of the rainforest. The manmade waterway that runs alongside it is a vital trade link between the Atlantic and the Pacific, giving the city its culturally cosmopolitan edge. The city’s old town Casco Viejo is filled with crumbling colonial architecture and cobblestoned plazas to explore.
