Why we love this trip
Take a week to explore the modern and ancient sides of Israel with a passionate and extremely knowledgeable local leader
Discover for yourself some of the most famous religious sites in the world: the location of the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, and walk the ‘Way of the Cross’ in Jerusalem
Experience the contrasts between the modern, cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv while exploring its nightlife, and the reverential atmosphere of Jerusalem while taking in the panoramic view from atop the Mount of Olives
Taste the flavours of Israel, sampling local fare and dining on musakkhan (roasted chicken with onions, sumac, and olive oil on flat bread) and delicious yogurt salad
Is this trip right for you?
This trip visits a number of religious sites, so it’s best to bring clothes that cover the arms and legs to show your respect at these sites. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it's hot.
At major sites you can expect to be exposed to the elements at length, so be prepared with a hat, sunscreen and plenty of fluids.
Sites can get congested during peak travel periods with coaches of large pilgrim groups. We do our best to plan our visits around these times, but it’s not always possible. There may be delays, queues and private services that prevent us from entering the site. Your trip leader will manage this as best as they can on the day.
It’s not all hot desert days in Israel, as the winter months (December through to February) can be quite cold. Temperatures in northern parts of the country can drop to freezing overnight, and snowfall in these areas is common. Temperatures can differ dramatically from one place to the next, so it’s important to pack accordingly.
Israel & the Palestinian Territories is by no means a cheap destination, so it’s important to budget accordingly. The good news is that your expert local leader is on hand to help you uncover the best local deals.
Known as 'baksheesh' in the Middle East, tipping is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry. If you are satisfied with the services, tipping is appropriate and always appreciated. Don’t be taken back if this tipping culture is particularly apparent in Israel.
This destination caters primarily for large pilgrim groups, and it can be difficult to secure small, boutique style accommodation in central locations with local 4-star amenities.

Our Journey Through Israel & the Palestinian Territories trips score an average of 4.54 out of 5 based on 13 reviews in the last year.
As I have already complained to Peregrine the transport provided on the first two days of our tour was appalling, a school bus where we were squashed in like sardines, the bus was filthy, the seats were ripped and some of the seats didn't even lock into the upright position - I doubt the vehicle would have passed a roadworthy in Australia. This was after all a Peregrine tour not a Geckos tour and people should be entitled to expect better after parting with good money. The excuse that it is peak season and vehicles and drivers are hard to find just doesn't wash.

Journey Through Israel & the Palestinian Territories, September 2017
I have now been to Egypt, Jordan and Israel with Peregrine and it was an amazing experience. Overall service, tour guide efficiency and knowledge was good and I thoroughly recommend Peregrine and Intrepid particularly for their small group format.
