It’s the hidden corners of Asia’s islands that make the region so tempting to explore – and our small ships can get you there.
Bali’s Kuta is paradise enough for most tourists, but at the volcanic islands of Satonda and Banta you’ll find some of the best underwater life in Indonesia. And the jungles and remote beaches of Borneo are one of Asia's last untouched wildernesses. Cruising Asia takes you to essential treasures that can’t be ignored, but it the surprise along the way that make for an exceptional journey.

Highlights of Asian Adventure Cruising
Snorkel in Pulau Tiga National Park
Borneo's Pulau Tiga National Park means 'three islands' and was created in the late 1890s by a volcanic mud explosion. Nowadays, it's a great place to enjoy snorkelling, keeping an eye out for the range of tropical fish and colourful coral that can be found close to shore. There will also be a chance to relax in a natural mud bath, which is said to be excellent skincare!
Visit an Orangutan Sanctuary
Borneo's government-funded Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary helps reintroduce these beautiful animals back into the wild after a life of domestication or having been orphaned. Head into the jungle and watch the orangutans as they swing into view, play and eat the supplementary diet of bananas and milk that is laid out for them twice a day by the rangers.
Comb the wilds of Rinca Island
Indonesia’s Rinca Island is the lesser-known sister to Komodo Island. It’s a place to witness the famed Komodo dragon in its natural surrounds without the distraction of the selfie-sticks in droves. Some of the dragons can grow to three metres (10 feet) in length, and the population on the island is so dense that sightings are almost guaranteed.
Escape to Satonda Island
At the centre of remote Satonda Island, Indonesia, lie the crystal blue waters of a flooded volcanic crater lake. It’s an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling. You might like to challenge yourself to a hike for spectacular views of the lake from above. Before you leave, hang a rock from one of the trees around the lake to have your wish come true.
