Why we love this trip

  • Wander through idyllic rice paddies in the tranquil location of Ta Van. This is a part of the country that's synonymous with the idea of Vietnam

  • Interact with Black H'mong, Giay and Red Dzao minorities in the small mountain villages of this region - a true Peregrine experience

  • Trek through the lush green hills on your way to Lech Village. Northern Vietnam is home to some amazing landscapes

  • Plenty of free time affords you the space to explore Sapa at your own pace. You can do as little or as much as you like

Is this trip right for you?

  • Walking in the hills to the villages is the main highlight of this trip, so a moderate level of fitness will add to your enjoyment. If this is a problem for you, it may be possible to make alterations to the walking distances with your local guide.

  • It's important to bring sturdy walking shoes with you, as the terrain can be quite unpredictable in this area. Uneven, unpaved and slippery surfaces can be really challenging if you don't bring the right footwear.

  • If you decide to visit between November to February (winter), conditions can be very cold, wet and foggy at times. Be prepared for this by bringing the necessary clothing such as coat, base layers, hat etc. Please see the 'What to take' section for more information.

  • Even if you're visiting outside of the winter seasons, Sapa is know for having four seasons in one day. It's best to be prepared for varied conditions throughout the day, and for cooler nights.
