Travel to Tanzania, which boasts some of the most impressive national parks in Africa

Discover the best of Tanzania on this lodge-based safari. Begin alongside the Great Rift Valley soda lake of Lake Manyara National Park, taking game drives from an incredible base overlooking the water. Travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and into the bordering Serengeti National Park – this is quintessential Africa, where wide open plains that stretch as far as the eye can see support vast numbers of plains animals. From the iconic Serengeti, pause at Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site made famous by Dr Leakey in the 1950s, before reaching the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. From a lodge spectacularly perched on the crater rim, explore a park that is truly a mini ‘Garden of Eden’. With 4WD vehicles and a specialist local guide at your side, this trip will give you the best possible insight in into these famous parks of northern Tanzania.

You will usually return to camp during the hotter hours in the middle of the day. There you will enjoy a hearty meal, relax and perhaps take a siesta. Depending on wildlife movements and opportunities for sightings, the drive may continue through lunch and last all day.
