The Falkland Islands have good internet access across the country. You’ll find internet cafes and Wi-Fi centres in Stanley or Camp. 

Mobile phone service is good in Stanley and Camp but may be unreliable on remote islands. Remember to activate global roaming with your provider if you wish to use your mobile while traveling.

Tap water is safe to drink in Falkland Islands. For environmental reasons, avoid buying bottled water and bring a bottle or canteen with you. Ask your leader where you can access filters to refill your supply, or carry your own purification tablets with you. 

You may be able to use your credit card in places like hotels and shops in Standley, however credit cards are not generally accepted outside of the city. 

There are no internationally connected ATMs in the Falklands so it’s important to arrange alternative payment options before you travel. You’ll need cash to pay for most local goods and services.
